Although I am not married to you, my reasons to be here are pretty much the same as Tishas: I like to share pics with an audience, I like encountering creative people & get inspired/inspire. Your substack is just that, you're (to me) an interesting human being not living on autopilot with an appealing way of looking at the world through a lens.
Substack is a nice and slow medium, cozy and warm, with niches for ppl off the beaten path. Although I'm off IG since 8 months or so, I still have 4 subscribers/month, a proof IG is just a click medium with no real interaction. Never been on twitter or FB, never liked the vibes of those.
I hope substack stays adfree though, I hate ads, both online as IRL.
I’m here because I feel inspired by you and by everyone I follow. I actually just clicked out of Instagram where I was mindlessly scrolling to hop over here and actually enjoy what I consume. 💕
Wonderful post. I’m here because want to cherish and give proper attention to images that I’ve captured. I follow you because you’re a really talented photographer and insightful writer.
As mentioned in the post, the images in the social media look similar. The goal seems to be to garner maximum number of likes. I would like to see images that are different from the run of the mill and sets me thinking..... pondering. Something that stimulates my mind. Something that makes my creative juices flow.
I think I ended up here via substack recommendations. But I'm STILL here because of well written and thoughtful pieces like this one.
I'm came to substack because the work me and my partner make deserves more time, attention and focus than people have to give on social media. There's still a place for Instagram etc, but it doesn't do us justice.
Thanks so much 🙏 I have been gaining many new followers here as well and I am always losing a few at the same time. As a photographer and writer, we are in the same boat. Many people are just interested in tech talk or they want to know how to get a million followers or get rich quick. I very much appreciate your newsletter and I know that when you share who you are with your audience it takes courage. Just keep doing it 👏
Thank you my dear. That truly means a lot to me.

Thank you. I got rid of IG a while ago and I haven’t regretted it at all.

Thank you for your kind words. I too enjoy reading your posts and listening to them on Podcasts. It’s great to hear a voice to the work.

Thank you!! I would agree. Sometimes a quick outlet like IG might be needed. I feel I’ve moved past that need.
